At the top of the hill is Casole d'Elsa, a medieval town, that is also 800 mt.The 15 APARTMENTS of various sizes, and the 3 ONE-ROOM APARTMENTS, are located in the two main buildings of the Borgo; they have simple and functional furnishings, but they are warm and inviting, and all rooms have their original timbered ceilings and Tuscan terracotta flooring. Each apartment has its own separate entrance and own garden or patio, with a table, chairs, and sunshade for enjoyable al fresco meals. Inside, every apartment has its own fully equipped cooking area, with plates and cutlery and a microwave oven, while the lounge area has a TV satellite. In addition, there is a safe, and twin bathrooms (apart from the one-room apartments C5 and C6, and the apartment C3, which have one bathroom only), and all apartments also have their own heating system.

By car
From north (Milan/Venice/Bologna/Brenner Pass):

Take the AI motorway southbound, heading for Rome, and leave motorway at exit marked FIRENZE CERTOSA; immediately take the freeway (raccordo autostradale) headed for SIENA, and after about 37 km take the turn-off at COLLE VAL D’ELSA NORD. Head for the town of Colle Val D’Elsa, until you come to a sharp right-hand turn (just before the centre of the town) signposted for Volterra, San Gimignano, and Casole d’Elsa. The road climbs up and skirts the old part of town on the hill on your left. 2 km further on, you come to an outlying part of town called “Le Grazie”, with an Esso petrol station on the left. 50 m further on from this point is a turn-off on the left for Casole d’Elsa. Carry on along this main road for about 7 km until you come to a roundabout. Go straight on over it, taking the exit for Casole d’Elsa (not the exit for Cavallano/Volterra), and after ca 1 km, passing the “Alba” industrial buiulding on your right, take the right-hand turn for Borgo al Cerro, opposite the sports ground at a crossroads. Carry on along this unsurfaced road for 1 km, and you’ll find Borgo al Cerro on your left.

From south
Take the VALDICHIANA exit off the A1 motorway, and carry on along the 4-lane freeway (“raccordo autostradale”) for Siena. Once you get to Siena, continue on the same freeway in the direction of Firenze/Bologna until the exit 20 km further on at Colle di val d’Elsa Sud. From here, follow the signposts for Casole d’Elsa; after three roundabouts and a small bridge, take a sharp right (following the signposts for Casole d’Elsa/Mensanello). After around 7 km of surfaced road, with its panoramic views, you get to a junction (where the road meets the larger “strada provinciale”), and here you turn right. After around 200 m, opposite the sports ground, turn left, following the signpost for Borgo al Cerro. You arrive after 1 km of unsurfaced road. We’re on the left.
