Carcassonne is a fortified French town, in the Aude departement, in the former province of Languedoc. It is separated into the fortified Cité de Carcassonne and the lower city, the Ville basse.

The town is located 90 km (56 miles) south-east of Toulouse. It stands in the gap between the Pyrenees and the Massif Central of France. Carcassonne is at the crossing of two major traffic routes in use since Antiquity: the route leading from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and that from the Massif Central to Spain, skirting the Pyrenees.

Coming from A 61 motorway: take exit Carcassonne Ouest. At the roundabout follow direction Toulouse, then turn on the first road on the right.
From Toulouse on the RN 113: at the roundabout (Centre Leclerc)take the ring, road direction A 61, and take exit ZI La Bouriette. Once at the roundabout, turn left after the bridge.
Coming from Narbonne or town centre: follow direction Toulouse until the roundabout (Centre Leclerc) then follow the indications above.
Coming from Mazamet: follow A 61, and take exit ZI la Bouriette. Once at the roundabout, turn left after the bridge.

By train
The Carcassone train station is about 8 minutes driving from the property.
